Manage Gift Cards #
Gift cards can be bought in-store and redeemed to automatically give the customer store credit. They can also be given out through promotions. The gift card uses a generated gift certificate code as another method of payment towards purchases on the store.
Example: A customer buys the item TV-001 which has a bonus $20 gift card. The $20 gift card is sent to the customer’s email so they can redeem it on their next order.
Gift cards are also often used as gifts between customers. They can be listed as items in the store for customers to buy for their friends and family. The gift card is locked to the customer that makes the first purchase on it, not the customer who bought it.
Add/Edit Gift Cards #
| Field | Description |
| Amount | The amount ($) the customer will receive from the card. |
| Description | Enter a brief description about the card and how to attain it. |
| Product Code | This is the item code belonging to the item that gives this gift card. |
| Email Message | The message sent to the user via email regarding the card. There are two variables which should be provided in the message: %GIFTCARDCODE% (the code the customer will need to enter to receive store credit) and %EXPIREDATE% (the date at which the customer can no longer redeem the gift card). |
| Start/Expiry Date | This is the timeframe in which the certificates will be available. |
